First off, I would like to say that I had to think of a master plan to get the time to write this blog, so I hope you all enjoy it. I had to send the older two to tumbling class with their dad, and put the last two down for a nap for enough quiet to get time with you so enjoy!
I was determined that this was the year. This was the year that I was going to finish Christmas shopping mid-November, and have all my Christmas gifts wrapped before Christmas Eve. Ok, so mid-November snuck up on me way quicker than I expected. So here we are 5 days before Christmas and I am only a 1/3 of the way done with my Christmas shopping. I usually don't wait this late in the game ever, but this year I totally lost track of time. Of course, I have granted myself grace we are in a whole pandemic after all. So I made it my personal business to get all gifts wrapped before Christmas Eve, so I don't have to be up all night wrapping gifts. That is what I typically do. Since it will be just us this Christmas I will be doing all the cooking this year instead of just doing my usual few dishes for the family potluck. I actually started wrapping gifts, and I had some under the tree. Then..... I am upstairs and I heard paper tearing downstairs, but didn't think anything of it. I went downstairs, and as I hit the bottom stair I hear Melody, " YAY!! I got a paw patrol fingers!" Homegirl had opened up her bathtime paw patrol fingers and was super excited. I explained to her that it was not time to open up the gifts yet, and she could not open them yet. As the day went on she didn't touch another gift.
Yay! Mel didn't touch any more gifts so she learned her lesson, and it all good now. So, I start wrapping more gifts and added them underneath the tree. Welp, about learning that lesson, not so much. I am in the kitchen trying to get my water intake on, and I hear paper ripping, but before I could stop her she comes running to bring me an action figure that was not her gift, but was actually Mayson's. Grrrrrrrrrr ma'am we have already had this discussion! I take the toy away and give her a firm, "NO, we don't touch the gifts". Of course, she is broken-hearted and cries.
"Now, what am I going to do? I guess I'll just be up all night wrapping gifts on Christmas Eve because I am not wrapping more gifts for her to open. Dang, what about the gifts I have already wrapped? " I questioned myself. Well, I decided that I will just move all the already wrapped gifts to the laundry room, and suspend all laundry services until after Christmas. I know you all know how much I am a fan of doing laundry! LOL, yeah right. As usual, my original plan didn't go quite how I expected it, but I am able to recover IF I can keep these toddlers out of the laundry room. Luckily, Melody can't open doors yet just gotta make sure she doesn't get any special assistance from her partner in crime, Mayson. Wish me luck!
I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas!! One Love, D'Que
