Power in the Pivot

So I have been thinking. There is power in a pivot. No not a basketball pivot, but a life pivot. Sometimes we get so distracted by the failure that we forget that there is power in a pivot. Alexander Fleming created penicillin by accident. He had actually thrown out the experiments he was currently working on when he discovered the bacteria was dying from the mold around it. What if Al Gore had beat George Bush for the presidency would he have had time to put forth research to create the bill to back the internet? What if after his loss he got so depressed he didn't put forth effort in anything else? There are so many other great things that came from a pivot or what some would call a failure. There is always a lot learned when something doesn't go as planned. My therapist told me to start planning for the failure. Plan for when someone that I thought I could count on doesn't come through. Prepare for relationships to change. Prepare for your worst case scenario. When you plan for disaster it doesn't seem as bad when it does come. Well it may, but you won't have to be so down on yourself that you never try again. Before therapy if something would go wrong with something I planned I would just stop, and wouldn't want to try again. Now I prepare myself for both the best case and the worst case. Failure is going to happen, it's how you handle it that matters. Keep pushing friends. Turn your failures into something great! One Love, D'Que
