Every week I check in with a good friend of mine, and we write up goals for the week. We check- in throughout the week to see how we can accomplish these goals, and encourage one another. It is great to have an accountable partner, but let's be honest I have one job, KEEP THE KIDS ALIVE! Yes, each and every single day it is my job as their mother to keep them alive, and yesterday I almost failed. My daughter, Melody, almost choked on cheese crackers. I was probably 5 seconds away from calling 911 when my CPR training kicked in. She began to vomit, and I had never been so glad to see vomit in my whole life. When you get married there are some things that one spouse will take care of while the other one won't touch it. Mine is vomit that is Myon's job. I hate vomit, but yesterday I didn't mind it at all. I hugged her and even left the vomit on for a little while. Her breathing was so much more important than vomit. Often, I spend so much time trying to fight an anxiety attack, and it can be exhausting. Yesterday I didn't have time to fight it when I realize it, I was in a full anxiety attack. I had to still function because Melody still needed me she needed comfort and reassurance. How am I supposed to comfort her when I am a complete mess myself? She laid down for a nap, and then I lost my shit. I needed to take a walk, but it was raining. The only relief I got was from a hot shower and humor. Guess what? We made it! She lived, and so did I. Make sure to check back next week to see how I manage the stressors come my way!
